PROFILE:MATCH®
PROFILE:MATCH ® RATIONALE

IN A NUT SHELL
The rationale of PROFILE:MATCH® is that, for any job, one's personality is likely to be either an asset or a hindrance. In any customer service role for example, being irritable (a feature of low FFM Emotional Stability), will undermine performance, but being sensitive and empathic (a feature of high FFM Agreeableness), will be an important asset. A good match makes a natural performer, a bad match will struggle to keep their impulses in check.

PROFILE:MATCH® makes this link between personality and performance; considering which aspects of personality contribute to the competencies identified as critical for success.

BEYOND PSYCHOMETRICS
PROFILE:MATCH® was designed to exploit all the benefits of psychometric personality assessment within the context of the internet; its power, its accessibility and its global reach. It does what all good personality assessments do, but then takes the process to the next level; going beyond personality assessment to address job competencies.

FIRSTLY - THE PRIMARY COLOURS
PROFILE:MATCH® does what the best of personality tests do. Using the Five Factor Model (FFM), it identifies the examinees status on each of these 'primary colours' of personality.

SECONDLY - MIXING THE COLOURS
PROFILE:MATCH® takes the basic FFM data and evaluates it against the competencies identified as important for effective job performance.

THE NEW CONSENSUS
Personality research reached a point of unprecedented consensus in the early 1990s. A series of huge meta-analytic research studies identified the Five Factor Model (FFM), pin-pointing the five 'primary colours of personality'. Up until then, a myriad of personality theories vied with each other for dominance and personality assessment, especially in the occupational field, had little to do with front line personality research.

THE POWER OF THE INTERNET
The internet has democratised and empowered people in innumerable ways, but the personality assessment industry has failed to exploit its potential. 'Online testing' has largely been an exercise in putting pages of test questions onto internet pages - a simple extension of paper and pencil assessment.

RE-ENGINEERING PSYCHOMETRICS
PROFILE:MATCH® combines the mature technology of psychometric personality assessment with internet technology. It makes the complete process accessible and relevant without disrupting its precision. All technology becomes increasingly commoditised as it becomes reliable and consensual. PROFILE:MATCH® seeks to increase utility and to make this assessment technology readily available to managers and decision makers.
